Lyn Ulbricht is the mother of the Silk Road website creator Ross Ulbricht. Ross Ulbricht is a first-time offender serving a double life sentence without parole, plus 40 years, for a website he made when he was 26 years old and passionate about free markets and privacy. Ross, an Eagle Scout, scientist and peaceful entrepreneur, had all non-violent charges at trial. He was never prosecuted for causing harm or bodily injury and no victim was named at trial. Kris Newby is an award-winning science writer at Stanford University, senior producer of the Lyme disease documentary UNDER OUR SKIN, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and author of Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons. Newby has two degrees in engineering, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and a master’s degree from Stanford University. Previously, Newby was a technology writer for Apple and other Silicon Valley companies. She lives in Palo Alto.

Dr. Tom Cowan discovered the work of the two men who would have the most influence on his career while teaching gardening as a Peace Corps volunteer in Swaziland, South Africa. He read Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston A. Price, as well as Rudolf Steiner’s work on biodynamic agriculture. These events inspired him to pursue a medical degree. Tom graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 1984. After his residency in Family Practice at Johnson City Hospital in Johnson City, New York, he set up an anthroposophical medical practice in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Dr. Cowan relocated to San Francisco in 2003.
